FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EnergyWiz Official Launch
Come and meet Winergy Canada Inc.
4/21/2004

We are pleased to announce that we will be staging our official EnergyWiz launch between 1pm and 4pm on Saturday April 24th, 2004 at Arbour Environmental Shoppe 800 Bank Street (between 3rd and 4th Avenue).

We will be there to introduce the features of our product and answer any questions you may have. We thank you for your continued patience and are sure that you'll agree that it was worth the wait.

We believe that the only sure way to start reversing the effects of global warming and reducing energy use in the home is for homeowners like yourselves to play an active role. EnergyWiz is a tool that will give you an unbiased estimate of how energy and water is used in your home. It will provide a summary of all available options and determine for you which are the most cost-effective changes to make based on your habits, your equipment and your house characteristics. It will also tell you the federal rebate you can anticipate for making these changes.

CD-ROM offers answer to where energy goes
8/19/2003

Two Ottawa men have a new $20 piece of software that helps homeowners analyze where they're wasting energy, and how they could save it. There's just one obstacle: Getting stores to sell the CD-Rom.

The software from Winergy Canada Inc. is simple enough: A single CD installs in any computer that runs on Windows, and the homeowner answers a string of about 70 questions, starting with: What do you pay for heat, electricity and water?

The program measures these energy costs against all the details of the home: It's age, type of construction, number of windows and type of furnace, for instance.
It factors in who lives there, how long people spend in the shower, and whether they have electric blankets, heated swimming pools or a taste for cranking up the heat in the winter.

At the end, the computer spits out graphs showing where the energy is going and conservation ideas suited to this home. First comes a coloured pie chart with an analysis of how much of the overall heating and electrical bill is going toward each part of the house. Then there's a list of options and an analysis of how a family can save money.

For $20, says Winergy vice-president Alan Tomalty, the EnergyWiz software is likely to pay for itself fast.
